How to make your hair color last longer.

I always get asked how I get my hair color to last longer so I decided I would share my tips!

  • Wash your hair as little as possible (2-3 times a week)
  • Wash your hair in cooler water.
  • Use shampoo meant for your color of hair (like red safe shampoos, blonding shampoos, etc)
  • Ask your hair dresser to freshen your ends when you get your hair done.

If you follow these tips and use a salon quality shampoo your color should be vibrant for a lot longer.

See my post about the blond hair toner to keep your blonde bright!

Blackhead face mask

Sorry everyone I’ve been on vacation!

I ordered  this face mask that is supposed to be a blackhead remover.

And it works pretty well! It’s super thick and takes forever to dry, but it gets the black heads out! It does sting a little to peel the mask off but it’s way less painful than extracting them. I purchased it on the wish iPhone app for $6.

Under eye dark spot treatment using gold

I bought these neat little under eye treatments at TJ Maxx and I really liked them!

These are totally worth what I paid for them! There are 6 treatments in the pack. They feel jelly like when you put them on but when the time is up (about 20 minutes) they are definatly soaked into your skin. It was super easy to use and it felt really awesome! I do notice a small improvement with my under eye circles, although next time I will be taking a before and after and posting it to this blog.

Face mask wrap

I am in love. I found this at TJ Maxx and I couldn’t be happier. My husband even decided to try one and loved it! It helped get rid of my bags under my eyes and it felt so hydrating and refreshing. Definatly worth the price and I will be going to stock up on them!

I had never tried a paper face wrap before and I’m not sure what I was expecting, but it was kinda wet feeling. It ended up feeling really moisturizing while on and I decided to exceed the 20 minute wrap to a 30 because it was so nice.

Skin types

Knowing your skin type is crucial to taking care of your skin. The easiest and most effective way to know what type of skin you have is to see an esthetician and get a skin analysis. If you can’t do that continue reading to help get an idea of what type of skin you have.

Oily:

When you wake up in the morning before washing your face you have a shine or an oil on some/ most of your face. Oily skin types get blackheads often and can have more breakouts.

Normal:

This is the least common skin type, this is when your face isn’t oily nor dry and your ph is good. This is healthier skin.

Dry:

When you wake up before washing your face you notice dry patches or flaking. You may need to use a heavier moisturizer just to keep your skin looking ok. This skin type deals with a lot of dry skin flakes and overall dryness. You may need to be drinking more water.

Combination:

This is a very common skin type. When you wake up before you wash your face you can notice both oily spots and dry spots. It can be in any part of your face but most likely your “T” zone is oily and the rest may be dry. Your T zone is your forehead nose and chin. This skin type ph is usually unbalanced.

Matte makeup

I have ad the Rimmel London primer for a while so I decided to pick up the foundation to go with it.

Wrong decision.

It’s horrible on my skin! It flakes and creases even with primer and setting products. It looked HORRIBLE. it didn’t feel very great either.

Maybe I’m just super picky or my skin is crazy dry, but I can’t find a good foundation to save my life!

The primer is ok it is nice and thick and helps make my makeup look smoother. It smells kinda weird though.

Self tan

I am a very pale/pasty girl, and I came to terms with that. Sometimes I feel like I want a bit of color still, so I went on the hunt for the perfect sunless tanner for very white skin. Most turned me orange until I found the Victoria’s Secret self tanning lotion, and I jut went to link it and it’s not on their website!

What am I going to do? I only have about two tabs left. I guess I’m starting the hunt again.

Anyway, this is the product:

To not get streaks shave and exfoliate 24 hours before ranning. I use small circular motions to get the product on evenly, and I make sure to pre moisturize my dry skin areas like my elbow and my knees. I’m using it today, I’ll take a before and after photo for you all! It takes about 5 hours before you can rinse it off. It’s truly a beautiful color.

Quick 4th of July polish

so I was feeling festive at work so I decided to do a fast and easy Fourth of July polish change. And I nhave Eder to hid the fact that I need a fill 😉 so I came up with this!

I think it’s fun and it was super easy. I just a base coat, two coats of blue, then used a light gold glitter almost to my cuticle, then used a highly concentrated silver glitter striker for the tips and built it up, did a few red dots with a dotting tool, and finished up with a top coat. When I get to work I will post the exact products I used.

I think this is really fun and cute and if I can do it on my own, you can too! I was in a hurry so I didn’t clean up my nails like I should have but usually I go in with a flat brush dipped in acetone and clean up my cuticle area. I will also post a photo of the brush.

Base: OPI in finance shine base, Nichole “it’s up to you”, Irly “shine on crazy diamond”, silver glitter Art Deco striped, diamond dry top coat.

This is the brush I use to clean up my nails.
